Walnut Street Development was founded in 1997 by Robert R. Montagne, Jr. — a leading developer of quality multifamily homes and mixed-use projects. We are all local entrepreneurs bound by the vision of creating quality projects in the DC area.  We have come to understand the best possible way to satisfy the housing, office and retail needs of a community by developing an expertise in market research, site acquisition, financing, entitlements, design, permitting, construction management and administration.

To provide urban infill development projects enduring quality throughout the greater Washington, DC Metro area. Our goal is to develop spaces that incorporate the best of existing neighborhoods with the benefits of modern technology. Our commitment to develop quality urban residential and commercial projects makes WSD a leader - and it is a legacy we strive to maintain as we become part of each new neighborhood.

OUR PLAN
Each year our goal is simple - to develop smart growth projects in destination areas leveraging the local transportation infrastructure. We build state-of-the-art structures utilizing the best design and materials available and make them fit into budget. We have the expertise to build urban mixed-use projects efficiently and the technology to make them innovative. As a result we quickly and efficiently evaluate new opportunities within our niche. We also enhance opportunities presented to us through value added design and the expertise we have gained on similar projects. With the revitalization of the downtown core in many cities, more people prefer to live in urban settings. Government growth legislation and infrastructure constraints contribute significantly to this trend. As such, investors and owners also recognize the wisdom of building in established areas less susceptible to economic fluctuations.
